About You
There was a moment in your life when you understood that your health mattered more than almost anything else.
But perhaps you didn’t have the words to describe it at the time - to say what had happened, and how it changed you. And maybe there was nobody there who walked alongside you in that realization.
We all have an experience like that, and finding it, telling it and preserving it so the people we care about truly understand it - that is the work of First Person Health.
About First Person Health
First Person Health is a storytelling workshop that teaches you the skills to express your health story in your own words, and gives you a professionally produced audio piece at the end of the workshop. It's for the health experience that shaped you but was never fully expressed - see it as a beautifully produced health record.

What past participants have said about First Person Health
"This has been an incredibly powerful experience and opportunity — the workshop was wonderful, thought-provoking, and incredibly helpful for me."
“It was such an honor to participate in this workshop. The conversations, the stories and the guidance from Golda were all so special, it's an experience I treasure. Thank you Golda for creating such a beautiful space and for all of these amazing women to connect, laugh, cry and safely share our truths. I look forward to hearing more of this deeply important work. ❤️”
"What the class taught me was that things that come from the heart are much more powerful and valuable than the ones that come from the analytical brain. That has been the greatest lesson."
The Origin Story
The idea for First Person Health came from the first season of Overlooked, which I built from audio diaries my mom had kept over five years while she was living with cancer — fragments of voice memos, and small moments she'd captured along the way. I took those pieces and shaped them into something powerful: her voice is preserved now in a way that still moves me, and that my kids will be able to hear one day. I want to help other women do the same with their stories.
I’ve been an audio storyteller for the last 25 years, reporting and producing content for big companies like the BBC and Vox Media. Now, I run my own production studio, making podcasts for mission-driven organizations, and host my own podcast about women’s health, Overlooked. I also mentor people who work in podcasting, and teach the craft of audio.
The fine print - workshop details
First Person Health costs USD $400, which covers three workshop sessions and the professional production of your story. I want this workshop to be accessible to anyone who wants to take it, so if that’s you, and you’d like to talk about a sliding scale, email hello@overlookedpod.com, and let’s talk.
Registration for our next workshop closes May 1, 2026, and the virtual classes take place once a week, throughout the month of May.
Space is limited to seven participants per cohort - small enough that everyone gets real time and attention.
Please apply using the form, and tell us a little bit about yourself.
Wishing you the best of health,
-Golda
